Key announcements and industry reaction to the UK Government's Autumn Budget Statement.

Following the 2024 General Election, tourism industry bodies have issued individual responses to the results and the new Government's priorities. 

Over the last few months, some of the associations Visit West supports through membership have launched their manifesto asks of a future government. Discover some key highlights of their requests ahead of the general election on Thursday 4 July. 

This week, Visit West has been represented at two key VisitBritain/VisitEngland events that have provided significant platforms for rasing the profile of their work, and an opportunity for Visit West to be highly visible in the process. 

Three linked trial traffic restrictions are set to be installed the Lansdown area of Bath from July as part of Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Liveable Neighbourhoods programme.

VisitEngland is working with AccessAble to support hospitality and tourism businesses across England to provide detailed descriptions of their venue accessibility for visitors.

The manifesto proposes policy measures and reforms to support the country's inbound visitor economy, worth £34 billion in export value, with a potential to grow 20% by 2027.
