WWT Slimbridge in Gloucestershire has unveiled its new boutique glamping accommodation, Warblers’ Meadow - five brand-new shepherd’s huts nestled amongst the wetland’s picturesque wildflowers, reeds and shimmering ponds - offering visitors the opportunity to experience a unique staycation on the River Severn estuary and a chance to unwind, switch off and reconnect with nature.
Tucked away in a tranquil corner of WWT Slimbridge, these five well-appointed shepherd’s huts each have their own private pond and mini wetland, offering a truly unique, immersive experience. Named after the beautiful songbirds that make their home in the meadow, you’ll wake to the sound of birdsong as the sun glistens through the trees while you enjoy your morning coffee on your own private deck.

From cosy hideaways perfect for couples, to generous retreats that can accommodate a family, each shepherd’s hut in Warblers’ Meadow has been thoughtfully-designed with comfortable beds, a convenient kitchenette and private bathroom, ensuring a relaxing glamping experience. The Reed Warbler hut features a wheelchair-friendly ramp and step-free access, plus a wide doorway for easier entry. While some limited walking is needed inside this hut, it provides a welcoming and comfortable retreat for those with reduced mobility.
With no TVs to distract you from nature’s spectacle right outside your door, a staycation at Warblers’ Meadow is a chance to escape the everyday, truly switch off from technology and immerse yourself in nature. Listen out for the sweet melody of the warblers’ song or the distinctive call of a cuckoo. Watch dragonflies dart across the shimmering water, while flocks of birds pass overhead on their migratory journeys. As dusk falls, watch as foxes, rabbits and deer move quietly through the meadow, look out for bats swooping through the air and listen for the soft hoot of owls in the distance.
