This May, Rick’s at The Bristol is bringing the bold spirit and flavours of Mexico to the city’s harbourside with a vibrant Cinco de Mayo celebration in collaboration with premium tequila brand Volcan de mi Tierra.

Taking place from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 May 2025, the three-day event promises an irresistible mix of live music, handcrafted tequila cocktails and Mexican-inspired small plates, all served in Rick’s signature art-deco setting.

Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy a bespoke cocktail menu showcasing five distinct creations, each designed to highlight the complex character of Volcan de mi Tierra tequila. Among the highlights are a refreshingly timeless Frozen Margarita and the innovative “As Time Goes By” - a smoky, sophisticated blend of Volcan Blanco, Talisker 10-year-old whisky, dry vermouth and banana. The drinks menu also features creative twists like the Corny Margarita, made with Nixta Corn Liqueur and a nostalgic Tequila Sunrise.

Complementing the drinks are two festive small plates: Mexican chicken tacos and Rick’s beloved house nachos. A new Margarita flight will be introduced to the menu for £15 and includes the frozen, classic and corny concoctions. A special 2-for-£18 cocktail offer will be available until 7pm each day, making Rick’s an ideal spot for after-work drinks or leisurely weekend lounging with friends.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, one evening of the event will feature a live DJ who will perform between 6pm - 11pm on Saturday 3 May, bringing a vibrant soundtrack to a weekend already rich with flavour, style and cultural flair. With its candlelit ambience, elegant wicker lighting and lush greenery, Rick’s continues to stand out as one of Bristol’s most sophisticated yet welcoming cocktail destinations.

“This year, we wanted to bring a little extra sunshine to Bristol with a bold, flavourful nod to Cinco de Mayo,” said Brian Milne, food and beverage manager at The Bristol. “Our partnership with Volcan de mi Tierra has allowed us to craft a truly fiesta-style menu that pairs perfectly with the vibrant energy of Rick’s.”

Guests are invited to toast the occasion in style and soak up the harbourside energy as Rick’s offers a uniquely Bristolian twist on this beloved celebration of Mexican culture and craftsmanship.
