Retail Supervisor at Noah's Ark Zoo Farm

RETAIL SUPERVISOR

We are looking to recruit two friendly, bubbly individuals to join our Retail team. You will be working in our Farm Shop which is located at the top of our car park.

Our ideal candidates will have a confident, can-do attitude, good communication and organisational skills.

We opened our Farm Shop in 2020, and it has become very popular with passing trade and zoo visitors. We sell fresh and frozen meals, homemade cakes, and desserts, made with local produce, freshly cooked in the Noah's Ark Kitchen by our team of talented chefs.

Our other products are sourced from local businesses in the South West and small sustainable British businesses, our Farm Shop is also expanding to sell a wider range of gardening essentials and seasonal goods, including Pumpkins and Christmas trees.

You will be working closely with the Retail Manager to achieve agreed sales and profit-targets.

Some of your responsibilities will be (but not limited to):

• Greeting customers and providing a warm and friendly service.
• Maximising sales ensuring the customer leaves the farm shop happy and with everything they need.
• Taking customer orders and payments, operating the tills.
• Serving hot and cold food to our customers.
• Ensuring the displays are always fully stocked and presentable to custom-ers.
• Lifting and moving of Pumpkins and Christmas Trees will be required, *so a good level of fitness is needed.
• Ensuring all food hygiene and health and safety requirements are met.
• To communicate and work closely with the Senior Management team and our Kitchen team to ensure food and drink supplies are well managed throughout each day.
• Barista trained, as will be making a multitude of hot drinks. *full training can be given.
• Cooking of hot food.
• Tidy and clean tables and customer areas in and around the farm shop.
• Temperature record and supplier delivery sheets are always kept up to date.
• Happy to work in the zoo’s Gift Shop (which forms part of the Retail team).

 

Work Pattern:

We have two part-time work patterns, to work alternate weekends, they are:-

1. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. One week on, one week off.
2. Friday & Saturday. One week on, one week off

 

Salary: up to £12.21 per hour

 

Our ideal candidates will have:

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Till trained and cash handling skills
• You must be happy with lone working.
• Understanding of sales targets and results-driven attitude.
• Experience of working within a catering and/or retail environment.
• You will have a bright and friendly personality that enjoys engaging with customers and staff.
• Organised, reliable, and clean and tidy in the workplace.
• Barista trained (preferred).
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate.
• Driving Licence.
• Need to be aged 18+ due to alcohol license purposes.
