Bristol Community Ferry Boats is pleased to announce that our Netham Lock Commuter Service starts again on Monday, March 31.

As a proud community business, we are committed to serving the people of Bristol by providing a dependable, inclusive and safe transport service that reflects our vibrant diversity, supports local people and remains an iconic part of the city's identity.

We put community first and this year we are going one better by committing to extending our waterbus service to integrate the Netham Lock trip into our daily sailings.

This not only gives commuters a fun and relaxing journey to and from work, but also gives all passengers an extra - and later - option to continue their journey by train by taking advantage of our scheduled stops at Castle Park and Temple Meads railway station.

In response to growing demand, we are expanding our daily service to include an extra Hotwells loop and incorporate the Netham Lock Commuter sailing. This leaves the city centre at 5pm and returning to start the journey to Netham Lock at 5.40pm.

BCFB director Roisin Tobin-Brooke said: 'This is a service that Bristol needs, commuters want - and we can provide.

'We are proud to be at the forefront of showcasing the potential of our waterways and how they can become a vital part of an integrated transport system for Bristol.'

Bristol Community Ferry Boats Ltd is more than just a ferry service; it is a community-owned and operated business where every pound spent on our waterbus service, private hire, or public trips is reinvested back into the company.

This means that by choosing Bristol Community Ferry Boats, customers are directly contributing to the growth of a vital community asset that benefits everyone in the city.

The City Council has launched a 20-year vision for the harbour and we want to position ourselves as a force to help drive this exciting development from the water.

What started out as a trial service and became a regular feature in 2024, the Netham Lock Commuter route is now fully integrated in our 2025 services throughout the season.
