Mendip Adventure has partnered with Really Good First Aid to sponsor local downhill mountain biker Jacob Cox. Jacob Cox, 18, is a downhill mountain bike racer from Axbridge, Somerset.
As part of their support, Mendip Adventure and Really Good First Aid have provided Jacob with an Outdoor First Aid training course and qualification. This training will enable him to pursue a Mountain Bike Instructors' Award Scheme qualification, helping him build a career in outdoor adventure. Having grown up in Somerset, Jacob spent much of his childhood exploring Mendip Activity Centre, where he enjoyed adventure activities through Scouts and for Birthday parties. His love for mountain biking grew from this early exposure to the outdoors.
Really Good First Aid delivers specialist Outdoor First Aid training across the South West, including courses at Mendip Activity Centre, the South West's largest outdoor activity provider who specialize in the delivery of adventure for everyone including those pursuing careers in the world of outdoor adventure.
Jacob Cox said: "What really drew me to the sport was its versatility—I can push myself on fast downhill runs or take a relaxed ride through the woods and always find enjoyment. I also love that I get to explore so many new places!"
Phil Turner, Head of Centre, Mendip Activity Centre, said: "Mendip are proud to help Jacob pursue his passion and hope he will inspire other young people to embrace adventure. We wish him all the best and are excited to follow his journey."
