From Saturday 15 to Sunday 23 February, Aerospace Bristol is inviting families to explore the world of robotics with ‘Robot Explorers’. The exciting experience offers hands-on activities where visitors can develop and master their robot skills.
This February half-term, visitors will have the chance to try out a range of stations, where they can test their skills driving robots, build different robot contraptions, and take on the Mars Mission challenge.
Charlie Clark, Learning Manager at Aerospace Bristol, said: “I’ve always been amazed at the creativity of robotics. Robot Explorers offers a unique opportunity for our visitors to test their skills and imaginations. Driving, building, and interacting with robots is something they definitely don’t get to do every day!”
Robot Explores Activities Include:
Drive a Rover: Everyone can put their skills to the test by driving a rover across a Martian landscape. Using iPad controls, they’ll navigate through obstacles, just like a real space mission.
Complete a Mars Mission: Visitors can design and build their own robot structure that will collect valuable metal ore and bring it back to base. They’ll need to get creative and think about how to build a robot that can handle the tough Martian surface.
Interact with Robots: Meet the Mekamon robot - It responds to commands, moves around, and even waves!
Build Your Own Robot: Using Modular Cubelets, visitors can experiment with assembling robots, learning how different components such as sensors, motors, and lights work together to bring the robots to life.
Robot Explorers is included with general museum admission to Aerospace Bristol. To find out more, visit aerospacebristol.org/february-half-term
