February half term is just around the corner and National Trust places near you are bursting with family-friendly activities to keep the kids entertained. Every time you experience a National Trust day out, you help care for these special places for future generations.

Avebury  

February half term 'bird search' 

15-23 February.  10am-4pm 

Painted birds have been hidden around Avebury Manor Garden. Families can pick up a trail sheet from the barn visitor reception or garden gate to match the bird to its colourful bird house.

February half term museum trail 

15-23 February.  10am-4pm 

Visit the Alexander Keiller Museum to learn more about Avebury and try your hand at becoming a museum detective on a free trail.

Wild winter spotter trail 

15-23 February.   10am-4pm 

Can you find a possible Neolithic tool, a new story, or a group of feathered visitors? Families can pick up a free wild winter spotter trail from the barn, museum, garden gate, or shop to explore Avebury with a new focus.

Bath Assembly Rooms 

‘Helios’ at Bath Assembly Rooms 

Daily until 23 February. 12noon – 6pm. 

See the sun like never before with artist Luke Jerram’s 7-meter diameter sculpture of the sun, ‘Helios’, at the Assembly Rooms. With rippling lights, solar imagery and sounds of the sun recorded by NASA, come and experience this audio-visual wonder.

Dyrham Park  

February half term fun at Dyrham Park 

15-23 February.  10am-5pm 

Young explorers can get involved with activities through the parkland this half term at Dyrham Park.

Lacock 

February half term at Lacock Abbey 

15-23 February.  10am-4pm 

Spot some of the 30 different species of spring flowering bulbs, go wandering in the woodland as it comes back to life and get creative with Wiltshire Scrapstore.

Spring Flower Count 

15-23 February.  10am-4pm 

Spot the signs of spring as Lacock blooms into life for the new season. There are over 50 different species of spring flower to spot. Collect a free Spotters Guide from Visitor Reception.

Newark Park 

February half term at Newark Park 

15-23 February.  10am-5pm 

Learn about the hares who live in and around the garden at Newark. Find the 8 activity stations and have a go at running like a hare, learning where they like to live, and even what their poo looks like.

Stourhead  

February half term: Frog's wonderfully watery adventure 

15-23 February.  9am-3pm 

Come rain or shine, enjoy six water-inspired activities and discover why Frog loves the rain! Pick up a free trail booklet from visitor reception.

Tyntesfield  

Building Blocks at Tyntesfield 

15-23 February.  10.30am-3.30pm 

We’re going to be creating a garden of building blocks and you’re invited to help. We’ll be building trees, flowers and bushes that might even rival the living garden at Tyntesfield.
