This year, Newark Park in Gloucestershire is embracing a traditional Christmas, with classic festive activities for all ages starting on 30 November. The house will be decorated with Christmas trees throughout, including a beautiful full-height tree in the entrance hall, a perfect family photo opportunity. On Saturday 8 Dec 12.30 – 2.30pm there’ll be additional festive spirit with Christmas Jazz music from Three Bop Jazz in the house.
For those looking to get crafty, Christmas wreath-making workshops will be running on 5 & 6 December. With a range of embellishments to choose from, participants will learn how to create a personalised decoration in a warm and friendly group setting. Booking essential.
Father Christmas is also making his annual visit to Newark Park as he gets ready for the busiest night of the year. On Saturdays and Sundays, 30 Nov - 15 December, he will be in the Drawing Room with a warm welcome and small gift for those who visit. Booking essential.
Visitors who are after some fresh air can spot willow reindeer in the garden and explore the Ozleworth valley on one of the many walking routes around the Newark estate. There are walks for a range of abilities, from woodland wanders to breathtaking valley vistas. Suitable outdoor clothing and footwear is essential.
Property Operations Manager, Amy Taylor, said: “This Christmas Newark Park is full of exciting activities for visitors of all ages and the house is going to look the best it ever has. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone at this magical time of year.”
Newark Park is open for Christmas weekends from 30 Nov – 15 Dec, and the garden and estate will be open daily for winter walks from 26 Dec – 5 Jan.
