Known for his deeply emotional and evocative compositions, Galvin will perform a solo piano set that forms the heart of this immersive event. The concert will also feature performances by a lineup of exceptional artists. Miles Chambers, Bristol’s first Poet Laureate, will share his powerful poetry that addresses themes of identity, history and community.

Other guest artists include Alice Human and Planet 528, whose performances blend music and striking visual elements to create a captivating experience. Ketibu, a standout performer in the local music scene, will add further energy to the event, while renowned poet and cultural commentator Edson Burton will act as the evening's compere, ensuring the flow of the performances and engaging the audience throughout.

Complementing the live performances, the event will showcase films by respected local filmmakers Colin Moody and Tom Whitson, providing a visual dimension to the evening’s artistic exploration. The combination of poetry, film and music, all set against the atmospheric backdrop of The Mount Without, is set to make Activate Your Soul an unmissable event.

Proceeds from the evening will go directly to Doctors Without Borders, whose critical mission is to provide emergency medical care to people affected by conflict, epidemics, disasters and exclusion from healthcare. By attending Activate Your Soul, audience members will not only enjoy an inspiring night of performance but also contribute to a lifesaving cause.

Galvin’s music has been hailed by the New York Times as “some of the most beautiful, haunting music you will ever hear”. Combined with the talent of Bristol’s finest poets and filmmakers, Activate Your Soul is set to be one of the cultural highlights of the year.

Jimmy Galvin said: "Music has the power to heal and connect us all and to be able to use it in support of an organisation like Doctors Without Borders is incredibly meaningful. This concert is about coming together as a community, not only to experience art but to make a real difference in the world."
