Somerset-based Aldwick Estate has announced the release of its Gold Award-winning Woodlands Oak Bacchus following its success at this year’s Wine GB awards.

Wine GB represents and supports the sustainable growth of the British wine sector, with its awards highly respected and judged by a panel of experts, including Susie Barrie MW, Oz Clarke OBE, and co-chair Peter Richards MW. The limited-edition Woodlands Oak is a white wine made from 100% Bacchus grapes, offering a rich, medium-bodied profile with floral aromas and flavors of tropical fruit, honeysuckle, and grapefruit.

This achievement marks 33 years of successful diversification for Aldwick Estate, which now includes a vineyard, an award-winning wedding venue, and events such as tours, tastings, and conferences. All aspects of the business have grown significantly in recent years. Sales over the past year were 50% higher than pre-COVID levels, with increasing visitor numbers for both tours and weddings. Positive reviews have surged, with 5-star ratings on Trip Advisor and personal feedback in visitor books reflecting the estate's beauty and offerings.

Managing Director Sandy Luck commented, "The business has really come into its own in recent years, with a stronger focus on the synergy between the vineyard and the venue. We receive such wonderful feedback from visitors, whether they've enjoyed a vineyard tour or spent time with family and friends at an event. Having our own wine behind the bar is a unique touch that makes Aldwick Estate special. Last year, we added new accommodation and a luxury lodge overlooking the vineyard so that more visitors can stay and enjoy everything we offer. The attention to detail and family-friendly atmosphere set us apart."

Victoria Greenhalf, a vineyard tour and wine-tasting visitor, shared her experience, saying, "Absolutely fantastic vineyard tour and wine tasting. Howard was excellent, with in-depth knowledge and a genuine passion for the business. The picnic hamper was worth it, with great quality food and even a bottle of wine included. I would recommend it to anyone."
