Avon Valley Adventure & Wildlife Park is synonymous with Halloween in the South West. As a family business with 35 years of experience, Avon Valley’s event locations are hotspots for families looking to create magical memories, for couples searching for the perfect date night and for groups of friends who want to do something outside of the norm for October get-togethers.

Returning for another cosy season, Avon Valley’s Pumpkin Patch and Pumpkin Patch Nights are set to fill the early days of autumn with wholesome, family fun. For something more chilling, FEAR Scream Park is also set to reopen its doors to visitors who aren’t afraid of the things that go bump in the night…

Pumpkin Patch

Approaching 10 years of pumpkin-based joy for guests and offering much more than just a pick-your-own patch, Avon Valley’s Pumpkin Patch will play host to seasonal games, shows, food and drink; to make Instagrammable moments a reality this Halloween season. The Pumpkin Patch was the recipient of a Best Event win at the 2023 Bristol, Bath and Somerset Tourism Awards.

From Saturday 28 September, visitors are invited to pick their pumpkins from a whole horde of gourds including multiple species from traditional field pumpkins and ghost pumpkins in the patch to a sumptuous selection of squashes and gourds in the market area.

By day, guests are invited to shake their stuff with the Pumpkin Heads as part of the park’s seasonal entertainment, while enjoying the funfair and games like pumpkin paintball, seasonal slingshot and firing the Apple Cannon.

Pumpkin Patch Nights

After dark from Friday 4th October, the Pumpkin Patch will transform into an atmospheric autumnal paradise where visitors can witness Spirit of Pumpkin, an epic fire show where talented actors will bring Halloween characters to life. Pumpkin-pickers can also enjoy upbeat acoustic live sets from local artists while indulging in seasonal treats like hot chocolate, apple cider and freshly made donuts.

It’s not just humans that are invited to enjoy the autumnal fun - dogs are welcome at the Pumpkin Patch to join in the festivities and to be part of the Instagrammable moments that can be made at the site's many photo opportunities. Fiendish fancy dress is equally encouraged for both two and four-legged visitors.

FEAR at Avon Valley Scream Park

Winner of Best Event Entertainment at the 2024 Thrill Nation Halloween Awards, Avon Valley’s FEAR Scream Park offers a unique and thrilling experience for Halloween and adrenaline lovers across the UK and beyond.

Re-opening on Friday 11th October, FEAR Scream Park will welcome visitors for 11 nights of scares. Boasting two zones, five multi-sensory and immersive scare attractions, it will also play host to fire and laser shows, street entertainment and a ‘bolt on’ scare experience known as The Exorcism. Visitors will be challenged to hold their nerve as they navigate the attractions and enjoy a night that is as thrilling as it is terrifying.

FEAR welcomes all who dare to experience its horrors but for those who prefer a less intense night the park offers a 'scaredy-cat lanyard,' which lets actors know to keep their distance allowing all guests to have a bloody good night.

FEARless at Avon Valley Scream Park

For those on half term, younger scare-lovers can experience the award-winning FEAR Scream Park with FEARless, a frightfully fun experience that invites under 16 year olds to navigate a tamed-down version of four attraction mazes with no major scares (but still plenty of spooks) along the way. With street performers, food stalls and fairground rides, the event is running for select daytime slots from Saturday 26th - Thursday 31st October.

Doug Douglas, owner of Avon Valley Wildlife & Adventure Park, said: “No one does Halloween like us! If it’s frights you’re after, FEAR is a completely one-of-a-kind experience in the South West and we know it leaves our guests laughing with exhilaration as they emerge from our scare attractions. Our Pumpkin Patch is unrivalled in every way, with both our daytime and nighttime offerings giving visitors beautiful autumn memories and becoming a yearly tradition!”
