The role of Assistant Hospitality Manager is to support the Hospitality Manager to ensure high level service and delivery across all the venue’s food and drink operations.

This involves coordinating and supervising a team of daytime and evening staff and working to achieve agreed sales and customer care targets.

Working closely with the Hospitality Manager you will ensure that the Café Bar at St Georges maintains a high degree of cleanliness and that the staff are properly trained to deliver a high standard of customer service.

This is a diverse role with a range of responsibilities; as such it is a full-time role that requires a degree of flexibility in terms of work hours to meet the objectives set out above. This role reports directly to the Hospitality Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Open and close café bar, oversee the day to day running of the café bar ensuring smooth service to meet agreed targets

• Duty supervise, motivate and support the staff team ensuring they deliver high quality, sales-orientated service

• Organise/run staff training and maintain café bar standards

• Order bar supplies in a timely manner and undertake stock control

• Support kitchen food service as required

• Identify measures to reduce waste to maximise profitability of hospitality operation

• Liaise with the Hospitality Manager, meeting private clients to understand their needs and ensure they are delivered to their satisfaction and in a way that promotes St George’s as a high-quality events destination

• Maintain a high level of customer service and care to conform to alcohol, food hygiene and health and safety regulations

• Manage up to 4 evening concerts /events per week to ensure café bar is operating efficiently

• Support the environmental action plan and work sustainably

• Support the Operations Director and assist in the day-to-day operations of the business as required

Salary & Hours of Work:

Salary: £24,278 per annum

Hours of work:  37.5 hours per week on a flexible rota encompassing daytime (typically Tues – Sat) and up to 4 evenings per week (including weekends)

Holidays: 33 days per year, including all statutory Bank Holiday
