Get involved with Hand in Hand Festival

For the first time, Bristol has been selected to host Hand in Hand, the UK and Ireland's biennial LGBTQ+ choir festival with 1,400 visitors (43 choirs) attending Bristol on 16-18 August 2024. 

The three-day festival will host concerts, workshops, socials, networking, and showcase the amazing city of Bristol. Organisers want to celebrate and showcase the diversity of our community, help LGBTQ+ people to feel included and supported and create a sense of belonging and acceptance within the community.

Hand in Hand's Project Manager, Suzanne Doyle, outlines how Visit West members can get involved and support the festival:
The festival has run since 2013 in cities like Manchester and London and now it is time for us to put Bristol on the map! The festival will take place in the spectacular, newly refurbished Bristol Beacon.

Our aim is to provide an inclusive, sustainable and accessible event, and your support would be instrumental in helping us achieve this. 
By supporting our festival, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our LGBTQ+ performers. Research, and our own experience, shows that LGBTQ+ people can suffer more with mental health problems, isolation and loneliness. 

We are looking for the following please:
1. Sponsorship - which will go towards supporting our volunteers - training, tshirts, refreshments while working and travel costs. Without volunteers we wouldn't be able to run the festival and we have about 80 volunteers.
2. Products or Vouchers - promotional items (food, drink, vouchers, water bottles, keep cup, pens etc), products or vouchers to include in our welcome bag
3. Discounts - from any restaurants or cafes local to the Bristol Beacon
