Weston High Street to close temporarily for works this summer

Highway resurfacing work, upgrading footways and street lighting improvements are taking place on Weston High Street over the summer. 

Bath & North East Somerset Council is advising people to plan their journeys for approximately twelve weeks from Monday 10 June as the works are carried out.

Businesses in High Street will remain open as usual with pedestrian access via footways remaining open throughout the works. 

Pedestrian access to properties will also be maintained. Local businesses and residents have been contacted directly by the council.

A full road closure is necessary and will be in place for the duration of the works. 

Bath & North East Somerset Council are upgrading the footway, street lighting and street furniture, with work dure to be completed by 16 August. High Street and Manor Road will be resurfaced in early September.  

The works are part of the council’s Highway Maintenance Capital Programme.
