Avon Valley is set to reopen its barndoors once again for Summertopia, the park’s fun-packed summer season, on Saturday 13 July.

The award-winning adventure and wildlife park, which is usually only open on school and bank holidays, will be open to fun-seekers every day until Sunday 1 September, welcoming families to spend their summer holidays immersing themselves in activities including a new-for-2024 scare event, a giant slip and slide and the return of the UK’s longest inflatable obstacle course…

Summertopia!

Summertopia! which runs from Saturday 13 July - Sunday 1 September, will see Avon Valley transform into a haven of summer fun for all the family. From splashing around in the sand and water play area, to walking with prehistoric giants in Dinosaur Valley, to meeting and interacting with real animals, children and adults alike are invited to make the most of the holidays at Avon Valley.

Children keen to show off their skills, or learn new ones, will have ample opportunities to, as the event field transforms into a mini festival, with a stage that will host ‘Avon Valley’s Got Talent,’ and with circus skills equipment ready for the next budding acrobats to try. Storytelling will also be on offer, for children who want to relax and listen to tales read by members of the parks entertainment team.

Brave guests will have the opportunity to tackle the giant 50 metre slip ‘n’ slide, with three lanes for the ultimate ride. Visitors will be able to stay overnight at the park by booking a stay at the park’s campsite, which has camping options for those who like to experience more of the outdoors, and glamping tents, some with private hot tubs, for those looking for a little more luxury during their stay. If you like your camping on wheels, motorhome and campervan pitches are also available this summer.

Visitors to Summertopia! would be wise to take a change of clothes with them, as every day will culminate in a soap-studded foam party, which is not to be missed for those who are sufferers of FOMO (or FOAM-O).

Summer Frights

From Avon Valley’s multi-award winning FEAR Scream Park, a new scare event is launching for one night only this summer. Brave visitors to Avon Valley’s FEAR will experience Summer Frights, a spine-chilling evening, debuting Saturday 13 July.

Building on the story of FEAR’s New World Order, the existing narrative for FEAR’s Halloween experience, guests will embark on an unforgettable 40-minute journey through the attractions, navigating darkened corridors, plunging into murky depths and facing both mind-bending and memory-erasing treatment, all as part of the hair-raising adventure.

The Tartan Titan

On selected dates between Saturday 27 July and Saturday 31 August, Avon Valley is hosting the 2022 Guinness World Record-holding obstacle course, The Tartan Titan. Recognised as the World’s longest inflatable assault course and with 50 sections of obstacles to tackle, the Tartan Titan is leaving Edinburgh to take up residence at the Park for the summer months. Groups of friends and colleagues are encouraged as a day of friendly competition…

Doug Douglas, owner of Avon Valley Wildlife & Adventure Park, said: “Summer 2024 is set to be our most exhilarating ever. We love being able to host thrilling one-off events like FEAR Summer Frights, while still offering our established and well-loved daily summer activities. This year, guests will be able to stay at the park until 8pm on Fridays, to really make the most of that summer evening sunshine and those later holiday bedtimes.”

This summer also marks the return of the Boomerang ticket, which will see visitors receiving discounts awarded the more times they revisit the park, so guests will have a chance to see and do everything, all while saving money on each subsequent visit. Guests will pay standard entry on their first visit and when picking up a Boomerang Ticket, will get 25% off their 2nd visit, 50% off their 3rd visit, 75% off their 4th visit with the 5th visit then being completely free of charge.

New season opening times will also see guests being able to stay at the park until 8pm to enjoy the full breadth of activities and entertainment on offer, while making the most of the later evening sunshine.
