Theatre Royal Bath has released a brand-new brochure today with full details of shows set to appear in the Main House, Ustinov Studio and The Egg this year, plus information about productions already confirmed for 2025.

Following a series of high-profile announcements in recent weeks, the brochure features details of more than 70 shows, including information about four newly confirmed productions - Dracula, Dinosaur World Live, Murder On The Orient Express and Jeeves Takes Charge - and the Ustinov Studio’s Visiting Company Season which returns this autumn. Tickets for newly announced shows will go on sale to members for priority booking from 16 May, with general booking opening on 25 May.

Bram Stoker’s Dracula will visit the Theatre Royal from 8 to 12 October when Blackeyed Theatre Company make a welcome return to Bath. As a new shadow looms large over England, a small group of young men and women, led by Professor Van Helsing, are plunged into an epic struggle for survival. Stretching from London, through provincial England to the mountainous wastes of Transylvania, Bram Stoker’s timeless, gothic thriller embodies the struggle to break taboos, resist temptation and stop the unknown outside becoming the enemy within. Adapted and directed by Nick Lane, this new stage production features powerful performances, a haunting soundscape and innovative design.

Dinosaur World Live tours to Bath direct from the West End with five day-time performances taking place from 10 to 13 October. Young theatregoers can discover a pre-historic world of astonishing and remarkably life-like dinosaurs, including the Tyrannosaurus Rex, a Triceratops, Giraffatitan and Segnosaurus, in this thrilling show which has recently won the 2024 Olivier Award for Best Family Show.

Jeeves Takes Charge will be staged at the Ustinov Studio over the festive season from 6 December to 4 January. Adapted by James and Edward Dean and Hugh Wooldridge into an award-winning one-man show, this glorious confection of the words of PG Wodehouse has been seen all over the world. West End, Chichester and RSC favourite Sam Harrison brings to life a myriad of Wodehouse characters in this joyfully laugh-out-loud comedy, including the amiably goofy man-about-town Bertie Wooster and his unusually intelligent bachelor valet, Jeeves. Prepare to be transported back to age when work was unthinkable and keeping in with relatives was of paramount importance.

In spring 2025, Murder On The Orient Express tours to the Theatre Royal from 11 to 15 March in a new production directed by Lucy Bailey (And Then There Were None). Winter 1934 and an avalanche stops the Orient Express dead in its tracks. An American tycoon lies murdered in his compartment, his door locked from the inside. Trapped in the snow with a killer still on board, can the world’s most famous detective, Hercule Poirot, crack the case before the train reaches its final destination. One of Agatha Christie’s greatest literary achievements, with a final twist that is amongst her very best, this gripping stage show promises a thrilling ride guaranteed to keep audiences guessing until the end of the line.

The Ustinov Studio’s Visiting Company Season returns this autumn featuring eleven new shows appearing in September, October and November. Austen’s Women: Lady Susan, based on Jane Austen’s first full-length work from 1794, visits Bath from 19 to 21 September in a brand-new solo comedy show, performed by Rebecca Vaughan and directed by Andrew Margerison. From 24 to 28 September, Her Green Hell brings physical theatre and vivid storytelling as Theatre Goose reimagines the remarkable true story of seventeen-year-old Juliane Koepcke, daughter of two Amazon zoologists, who found herself trapped in the Peruvian rainforest following a plane crash and a fall of 10,000 feet.

On 3 October, The Noise Next Door brings the quickest wits in comedy for a totally improvised new show featuring a priceless parade of off-the-cuff gags, scenes and songs, all based on audience suggestions. On 4 and 5 October, When Vincent Met John explores what might have happened if Vincent Van Gogh and John Lennon had met. Two of the greatest artists of their time, Vincent died in 1890, John died in 1980, both of gunshot wounds to the chest. Five years before their deaths, both men went through profound change. This new play takes place at their exact moment of crisis and decision. From 7 to 9 October, The Long Run, created and performed by Katie Arnstein, brings a tender, emotionally rich, and frequently hilarious, story about human connection, cancer diagnosis and long-distance running.

Our Little Hour brings the fascinating story of Walter Tull to the Ustinov Studio from 15 to 19 October. Grandson of a Barbadian slave, orphaned at the age of eight, Walter rose to prominence against the odds, becoming the first black footballer to play at the highest level of the game and the first man of his heritage to be commissioned as an Officer in the British Army. His inspirational story is brought to the stage in a new musical drama by award-winning playwright Dougie Blaxland and composer Chris Anthony. On 21 and 22 October, Cracking, a new dark comedy by Shôn Dale-Jones, visits Bath delivering a heart-warming and uplifting comic story about loving in the face of hatred. I Found My Horn tours to the Ustinov Studio on 25 and 26 October, performed by Jonathan Guy Lewis. Adapted from the best-selling book by Jasper Rees, this joyous, feel-good one-man show places the transforming power of music centre-stage.

On 28 and 29 October, It’s The Economy, Stupid! sees Joe Sellman-Leava and Dylan Howells embark on a quest to uncover how the economy wins elections and why the force that dominates our lives is so complicated! Armed with boxes, bags and an old board game, Joe and Dylan calculate how their lives have been shaped by the economies they grew up in, in a bold new show from the Fringe First winning creators of Labels and Fanboy. On 30 October, award-winning Box Tale Soup present their chilling show Casting The Runes, an original adaptation of M.R. James’ classic supernatural thriller. The final show of the 2024 Visiting Company Season sees Alyssa Kyria tour to the Ustinov Studio with Funny Mummy on 1 and 2 November, a hilarious one-woman comedy show about the bonkers world of parenting.
