The Holburne Museum is supporting its young adult Volunteers, The Holburne Future Collective, to produce a brand new two-day PRIDE event this June in collaboration with Bath Arts Collective.
This treasured Bath art museum will throw open its doors to the local community of LGBTQIA+ members and allies with a jam-packed programme of talks, creative workshops, films, cabaret, and silent discos celebrating queer arts and culture.
The Holburne Future Collective have programmed and will deliver all events on the Friday, and they are excited to be working in collaboration with Bath Arts Collective who are taking over the reins forthe Saturday giving the Holburne the opportunity to involve its wider cultural partners from across the city.
“I am delighted that, for the first time, the Holburne will be celebrating Pride. I am especially excited that this event has been proposed and developed by the Holburne Future Collective. It demonstrates how important it is for the Holburne to have this group of young people enthusiastically engaging with the museum and enriching our programme. I hope this will become an annual event that will grow over time" says Dr Chris Stephens, Director, Holburne Museum.
"Driven by our commitment as a community interest company, we are thrilled to be collaborating with the Holburne on this event that uplifts and empower young individuals, champions diverse voices, and celebrates inclusivity. We believe in the importance of this event for the city to allow people to explore the history of queer arts and culture whilst paving the way for its vibrant future within the LGBTQIA+ community in Bath" - Jasmine Barker, Director of Bath Arts Collective.
