Plastic Paradiso, an environmental-inspired performance engaging children and families in saving the oceans and the value of recycling, comes to Bath’s Egg Theatre on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November. A breath-taking spectacle, weaving dance and puppetry into a tale depicting the enduring spirit of the natural world, this poignant performance is recommended for children aged 4 years and over.

Audiences are taken on a journey from an island ravaged by a tide of plastic debris as it becomes a lush paradise. This wondrous performance offers an enchanting fusion of art and environmental awareness, and a poignant reminder of the resilience of nature and the profound impact of friendship.

Plastic Paradiso is choreographed and performed by Claire Benson, who channels her passion for environmental conservation by ingeniously repurposing salvaged treasures from beach clean-ups into a stunning backdrop for the performance. Through the art of puppetry and dance, household plastics are reimagined as whimsical props in a testament to the boundless creativity that springs from adversity.

Claire Benson said: “After years of nurturing this dream, bringing the story to life has been nothing short of exhilarating. At its core, this tale grapples with the pressing crisis of plastic pollution, aimed at igniting the sparks of young imaginations and sparking the fires of positive change."

Plastic Paradiso appears at The Egg on Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 November. To book tickets, call the Theatre Royal Box Office on +44 (0)1225 448844, The Egg on +44 (0)1225 823 409, or visit www.theatreroyal.org.uk/whats-on/
