About the role
You will be working as a ‘Step up’ Team Leader but the majority of your shifts will be as a Live Science team member. You will be on hand as a backup for the Team Leaders on shift and will be there to cover for the Team Leaders in case of sickness and annual leave.
Within the venue you will be presenting shows, facilitating hands-on activities, starting conversations among exhibits and helping people to get involved by sparking curiosity, creating fun and promoting the value of people’s opinions and life experiences.
You will also keep aware of the safety of visitors by following safeguarding and evacuation procedures.
The venue is attended by lots of different people and age groups, but the main audience is families, so you should be confident working with children (aged 3-11 years) and young people.
Key information
Salary: £11.97 per hour When working as a team leader: £12.72 per hour
Contract: 18 months fixed term
Working hours: 31 hours per week in total as a Team Member with 0 hours step up Team Leader shifts
