When a fire caused the science centre to close last year, We The Curious, an educational charity, started taking their creative spin on science out and about across the city. This Autumn, stargazing and storytelling evenings return in the new venue of Windmill Hill City Farm. Millennium Square w welcomes ‘Boxville’ back for another craft-along theatrical cardboard adventure, as well as ‘Festival for our Future’ – free film screenings and activities all about the power of collective action on climate change, this year with a foody theme.
Stories from the Stars: The Sky and the Earth

Stories from the Stars is back with all-new tales of the night-sky for Winter 2023! Experience the relationship between the sky and the earth, as dynamic storytellers from We The Curious guide you through 60 minutes of tales from science, history, and mythology.
Set in Windmill Hill City Farm’s unique Garden Theatre. Wrap up warm, sit back and relax as you discover how people from all over the world and throughout time have used stars and other celestial objects to live off the land.
Boxville

Special live event ‘Boxville’ returns; theatre and craft-a-long making experience that invites you to step inside a world made of cardboard, where the possibilities are endless.
This special interactive performance is brought to you by Sam Wilde, a sustainable theatre designer and his creative team. Everything is made of recycled cardboard, and you can take your new creations home with you at the end of the adventure!
The event will run as a rolling drop-in between 11-4, with the interactive performances taking place at 11 and 2. Each performance will last roughly 50 mins and you can join in at any point – no need to book.
Festival for our Future
When and where: Family weekend 23 & 24 September 11-5.30pm, Weekday evenings 27 & 28 September, 5-9pm – Millennium Square

Festival for our Future is a free, outdoor event on Millennium Square to celebrate the power of collective action on climate change, this year with a foody theme.
It’ll include a family-focussed weekend with film screenings, cooking demos, music and a large helping of inspiration from some of our city’s food heroes, ’91 ways’ will be doing a sustainable cooking demonstration making a delicious vegan Dhal.
For young people, there will be two evenings of special film screenings, entertainment, and workshops including ‘Rooted in Bristol’ an insightful documentary that discusses the importance of equitable access to land.
