The UK’s largest and most connected regional technology festival is set to return to Bristol this autumn. A highly anticipated calendar event, the Bristol Technology Festival (BTF) will once again be curated by the techSPARK team. We can’t wait to improve on last year’s efforts and build on the excitement from the recent Bath Digital Festival.

Supported by our headline partner, Ghyston, an award-winning UK software company, the festival will be taking place from 9 – 13 October 2023 in various locations across our vibrant city. As usual, connecting people and sharing knowledge will be at the core of BTF.

BTF’s purpose is to showcase and support the thriving tech ecosystem in Bristol, which accounts for 36% of the city’s high-growth businesses. Our city’s tech landscape contains a mix of tech giants and emerging startups. Bristol is proudly home to the greatest number of high-growth technology companies in the South West, and one of the top 20 performing tech clusters in Europe.

We believe technology conferences should be fun, engaging, and open to all. For the 2023 addition, we will be championing the same collaborative energy as last year. Keep your eyes peeled for a schedule coming very soon. In the meantime, if you’d like to get involved please do: book a call to become a sponsor, tell us about your idea for an event, or offer your space.

Five days of tech
Join us at the Bristol Tech Festival, where innovation merges with human potential, creating awareness, fostering resilience, and celebrating the boundless power of knowledge.

Events throughout the festival are crowdsourced from organisations across the city. These include tech companies, public bodies, schools, community interest groups and charities. The content spans the depth and breadth of everything the tech sector comes into contact with. Think anything from a panel discussion on AI ethics to Virtual Reality showcases and workshops on perfecting your elevator pitch.

If you’re a part of the South West tech community, why not host an event? Providing the topic aligns with one of our five themes, we’d love to hear from you. If you have an idea for a keynote, workshop, or panel up your sleeve, please submit your info on this form here.

Each day represents a different theme which events will be based around, running from Monday to Friday (spot the acronym).

Science: From healthcare and biotechnology to robotics and space exploration, science tech is transforming the way we live and work.

People: Sponsored by AND Digital, the theme of people and talent focuses on the individuals who make up the tech industry, as well as the skills and knowledge required to succeed in this field.

Awareness: Raising awareness of the risks to our cybersecurity, focusing on the challenges and opportunities of ensuring the security of our digital infrastructure.

Resilience: The theme of resilience focuses on ensuring the stability and strength of our sector.  We will be highlighting risks and the importance of future proofing our business.

Knowledge: The final day will provide opportunities for attendees to connect with other professionals, learn about the latest developments and trends, and gain insights into the future of the industry.

Excitingly, the Bristol & Bath Cyber Conference will also be returning as part of BTF on Wednesday’s Awareness Day. Last year we brought 400 of the brightest minds in the industry together at the Watershed to learn, share and connect on all things cyber. The day was invaluable, representing the community’s commitment to spearheading vital innovation in the sector. We can’t wait to recreate the event, bringing you the most current ideas and practices in the fast-paced cyber world.

Expect a day full of workshops, hackathons, panel debates, and 15+ industry leading speakers this is the region’s largest cyber collective, designed to support those working in the industry and celebrate the most innovative cyber startups.

At Bristol & Bath Cyber Conference we explore the industry through fun social engineering & gamification activities, encouraging everyone to participate through interactive events and real-world challenges. Find out more information and secure yourself a spot with an Early Bird ticket this Friday.

Thanks to all our partners for making the Bristol Tech Festival possible, Ghyston, AND Digital, Burges Salmon, Agilebase, techUK & Ambitious PR.
