From 19-20 August, Bristol Art District Weekender will be a celebration of all things creative in Bedminster. Expect free craft workshops, performance art, dance, street art and photography. All art forms will be celebrated, with painters, potters, actors, singers and more programmed.

Saturday 19th August

Saturday will see East Street transformed into a Street Party in celebration of local creatives. Alongside a street packed full of activity, traders will be invited to animate their spaces and shops. The area will be filled with live theatre, choirs, street performers and children’s crafts, so the whole family can come together to immerse themselves in the celebrations.

Sunday 20th August

On Sunday, the activities will move into the local venues, with free to attend workshops, drop-in events and entertainment spread throughout the area, as well as street art walks, photography workshops and other outdoor activities.

Ruth Green, Head of Bedminster Business Improvement District (BID), said:

“There is so much creativity running through the heart of Bedminster and we want to amplify it. The area has always been a hub of creative activity, and events like this really bring that to the forefront. We’ll have Upfest bringing street artists to live paint in the street, workshops of all kinds for all levels of experience, theatre performances, pop-up music performances and plenty of food and drinks from all the traders in the area. It’s more important than ever to support our local retailers and hospitality businesses so we're hoping Bristol will turn out in force for a huge celebration of Bristol’s creativity.”

Bristol Art District Weekender is being delivered as one of the activities under the City Centre and High Streets Recovery and Renewal programme, funded by Bristol City Council and the West of England Combined Authority’s Love our High Streets project.

Bristol Art District features over 150 murals from national, international and Bristol artists, and is home to Upfest, Europe's largest live street art festival. Discover over 40 creative businesses from galleries and theatres to bars which are pieces of art in themselves!  Follow mural trails, grab a gift from an independent trader as you explore one of Bristol's oldest neighbourhoods.

Bristol Art District Weekender is a free event. Some activities require payment, and will need to be booked in advance. Find out more about how you can get involved with the multitude of activities today by visiting www.bristolartdistrict.com
