A new stage adaptation of The Time Machine, a fast-paced and wise-cracking retelling of the world-famous novel by H.G. Wells, tours to the Theatre Royal Bath from Monday 24 to Saturday 29 April. This UK premiere production stars Michael Dylan (winner of The Stage Award 2022 for Wilf), Dave Hearn (a founding member of the Olivier Award-winning Mischief Theatre, seen on TV in The Goes Wrong Show) and Amy Revelle (Offside).

When the world of science fiction and science fact collide, extraordinary and mind-boggling things can happen in this comedy which travels to the end of the earth’s life in order to reflect on our own. Written by Steven Canny and Bristol-based John Nicholson, and directed by Orla O’Loughlin, The Time Machine promises a fast and funny journey with plenty of twists and turns along the way. Warning: may contain Cher tunes!

Audiences can expect the most surprising and unforeseen consequences as they go on a roller coaster journey through time as the award-winning Original Theatre Company, the team behind the hit comedy The Hound of the Baskervilles, return to Bath.

Dave Hearn returns to the Theatre Royal’s stage after previously playing Bath in first major UK tour of The Play That Goes Wrong in 2014, staged by the multi award-winning Mischief, the world-famous theatre company he helped to found. Since co-creating Mischief, Dave has starred in The Play That Goes Wrong on Broadway, in the West End, nationwide and internationally. His many credits with Mischief in the West End also include Magic Goes Wrong, The Comedy About A Bank Robbery, Peter Pan Goes Wrong and Mischief Movie Night. Dave has starred on BBC One in 12 episodes of The Goes Wrong Show, Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, Magic Goes Wrong for Comic Relief and Peter Pan Goes Wrong. His screen credits also include Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and the Royal Variety Performance on ITV.

Michael Dylan won The Stage Edinburgh Award for Acting Excellence 2022 for his role in Wilf at the Traverse Theatre. He last performed at the Theatre Royal Bath in 2014 in the National Theatre’s production of One Man, Two Guvnors, as well as in London and on tour. Michael has starred in many productions in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Perth, including at the Traverse, the Tron and the Citizens Theatre. He has also toured internationally and starred in A Midsummer Night's Dream for Headlong. His screen credits include Outlander, Mrs Davis, Shetland, Bert and Dickie, Muppets Most Wanted and For George.

Amy Revelle’s theatre credits last year included the UK tour of Offside and The Possibility of Colour in Manchester. She has also performed in productions of The Rounds, La Voisin, Black Or White Coffee and Yoghurt Is Not Sexy in London; and When Women Wee, in Edinburgh and London, which she also co-wrote. Her screen credits include Valerie, Chicklit and Lovely Day.
