The Michelin Green-starred The Ethicurean Restaurant, set within the rolling hills of the Mendip in the Bristol countryside, is hosting a special dinner at their breathtakingly beautiful Victorian walled-garden restaurant, taking place on May 4 from 18:00. This time, they’ve teamed up with the Bristol-based Aardman studios – creators of Wallace & Gromit, Creature Comforts and Chicken Run to name but a few of these undeniably iconic and much-loved staples of British film and animation. We are thrilled to welcome Peter Lord, animation legend and co-founder of Aardman, and expert model maker Jim Parkyn to the Ethicurean for this one-off event. You may not “want to be a pie”, but you will certainly want to get tickets for this one-off event.
The evening will be an opportunity for fans of BBC’s Great British Menu to experience Head Chef and Co-Owner Mark McCabe’s entire high-scoring menu from the latest series, celebrating the best of British animation and illustration. Guests can look forward to dishes such as ‘Behind Bars' - Spelt, mushroom, koji; 'Spindrift' - Char, turnip, samphire, caviar; 'Badgers Sett' - Hogget, sauerkraut, celeriac; 'Take my Hand' - Lemon verbena, damson, rye; and 'One Emotion at a Time' - Yogurt, honey, hogweed. Don’t worry, it won’t all be cheese, Gromit!
Before dinner, guests will have the exciting opportunity to craft models with Jim, using the gorgeous spring produce growing in The Ethicurean’s walled garden as inspiration. During the class, Peter will be talking about his incredible lifetime in animation, and guests will have the opportunity to ask questions of both.
Tickets are available here.
