Kitchen by KASK has announced a brand new line-up of dates that should be in every food-lover’s diary. Taking over the kitchen at the new North Street location, expect unbelievable flavours from some of Bristol’s best chefs, complemented with drinks chosen by the KASK team to perfectly pair with the food.
The new line up includes takeovers by street-food favourites The Cheese Guys, Peckers, King Fin and Fat Rice. Kicking off the season, Old Market’s popular restaurant Tomo No Ramen will be heading south of the river to create a temporary second-outpost from 26 January to 4 February, serving up their banging-bowls of ramen combining local ingredients with traditional techniques in the casually-cool setting of the neon-clad dining area.
The Cheese Guys will be taking up residency between Thursday 9 - Sunday 19 February, serving up a variety of dishes, both sweet and savoury, all centred around the hero of the night - cheese. Expect Tunworth Tortilla, Truffled Baron Bigot Mac ‘N Cheese, Malfatti with Berkswell + sage butter, and mini ricotta doughnuts with pistachio & honey. With special Raclette evenings on Thursdays and a weekend/Sunday brunch menu (think brioche french toast with whipped ricotta, Aubergine Shakshuka, and Croque Madame) The Cheese Guys are using their takeover to experiment with dishes not usually served from their food truck.
Preparing to transform Kitchen by KASK between 16 - 26 March and get Bristol coming back to sample the rotating menus is seafood-aficionados, King Fin. No stranger to food markets, where they serve hugely popular soft shell crab burgers, deep fried seafood and Po’Boys, King Fin will also be using their takeover of the kitchen to experiment with new dishes and plans are afoot for a slap-up Mother’s Day seafood + fizz brunch.
Returning to Kitchen by KASK following successful takeovers in 2022 will be Peckers (9-11th March) and Fat Rice (30th March - 1st April) bringing their free-range fried chicken, and Malaysian comfort food back to Bedminster for single week slots.
Charlie Taylor, co-owner of Kitchen by KASK, said: “Kitchen by KASK is all about customers tasting experimental new dishes alongside fan favourites from some of Bristol’s best chefs and street-food traders alongside drinks pairings from the team at KASK that elevate the flavours further. After our first season of chefs taking over the kitchen in 2022, we’re ready to kick start the New Year with next level food and wine, and couldn’t be more excited by this line up. For us, the real thrill comes with devising the drinks lists to pair with the food - not all of these menus are obvious fits for drinks pairings, and we love coming up with combinations that work. We showed in our first season that food + wine pairing doesn’t need to break the bank, and we’ll also be bringing back our popular beer + cider tasting flights and continuing with our commitment to serve up non-alcoholic options that complement the food.
Alongside the takeovers we’re also hosting a number of Buskers Banquet events, one-off supper clubs including some to raise money for The MAZI Project, and private parties, demonstrating the flexibility of the space as an events venue”.
The constant rotation of chefs and menus is already enough of a reason to keep Bristol coming back to Kitchen by KASK, especially when each indie has gained a somewhat cult-following in the culinary world of casual-cuisine. Add on a flight of wine, beer or non-alcoholic drinks that’s specifically chosen to compliment the flavours of the food and there’ll be no shortage of flavour coming from the kitchen.
Bookings are now live for the first line-up of residencies. Book a table and keep up to date with all the goings on at Kitchen by KASK over on the website and follow along on Instagram.
