WWT are deeply saddened to hear about the death of HM the Queen, who they were privileged to have as their Patron for many decade before she handed the role to her son, now HM King Charles III.

WWT's thoughts are with her family and with the entire nation, as we remember and mourn our monarch after a life of extraordinary service.

As a mark of respect, WWT will be closing their wetland centres, including WWT Slimbridge, on Monday 19 September. They will reopen on Tuesday 20 September.

If you were planning to visit on 19 September, WWT hope you can join them on another day and look forward to welcoming you.

The Queen was an integral part of WWT’s history and her lifelong love of nature will stand as a lasting legacy.
