The Bristol, a part of The Doyle Collection Hotel Group (www.doylecollection.com/bristol), will launch a new ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ menu (priced at £25 per person) that shines a light on the unique creativity and artistic spirit of Bristolians to coincide with the start of National Afternoon Tea Week. To mark the occasion, every adult ordering afternoon tea between 8 and 14 August 2022 will receive a complimentary gin cocktail.
The ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ menu sees the striking harbourside hotel join forces with local producers and creators, such as Bristol Dry Gin, Bird & Blend Tea Co. and trail-blazing Bristol-based street artist SP: Zero, to showcase the very best of the city in a modern twist on the traditional afternoon tea.
What would a Bristol-centric menu be without celebrating the city’s iconic street art? The hotel has partnered with popular local illustrator and street artist SP: Zero to create a menu fitting of Bristol’s fondness for counterculture and graffiti. He has brought his iconic stylings to the menu highlighting the floral botanicals featured in the teas & cocktails, classic cakes and some of the harbourside’s most iconic sights in its artwork.
Served in the comfy surrounds of The River Lounge (or The River Grille for larger groups), the ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ includes all the classics, such as cucumber and cream cheese finger sandwiches, warm scones served with Cornish clotted cream and a mouth-watering selection of handmade miniature cakes, served on The Doyle Collection’s iconic Heritage Collection made in the UK of the finest bone china.
A unique mix of teas, curated in partnership with the Bird & Blend Tea Co, has been selected by the talented team to complement the delicious food. There are traditional blends like Earl Grey Crème on the menu, alongside contemporary options, for example Eton Mess and Proper Mint created specifically for The Bristol.
A dedicated tea-inspired menu of three cocktails, created in collaboration with Bristol Dry Gin, includes the fragrant Passiflora made from Earl Grey-infused Bristol Dry Gin, Passion Fruit Purée and Vanilla; each cocktail costs £12.
The Bristol’s ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ menu launches on 8 August and will be available till late 2022. Priced at £25 per person, there is an additional cost of £12 per G & Tea cocktail (or glass of Rathfinny English sparkling wine). And don’t forget, those who enjoy the ‘G & Afternoon Tea’ experience between 8 and 14 August will receive a complimentary G & Tea cocktail per adult!
Dairy-free, gluten-free and vegan afternoon tea options are available, if advanced notice is given at the time of booking. Visit doylecollection.com/Bristol, call 0117 923 0333 or email bristol@doylecollection.com to make a reservation.
