The Queen's Baton Relay at The Wave

The Wave is so excited to have been chosen to be part of The Birmingham 2022 Queen's Baton Relay route!

On Tuesday the 5 July, The Queen's Baton Relay will be visiting The Wave to take to the waves for a surf. A wide range of people will be involved in the community celebration, from local primary schools, The Wave ambassador’s and adaptive surfers. Entrance to The Wave to see the baton and to be part of its journey is free of charge.

Travelling via land, air and sea, 180 communities in England will experience the Queen’s Baton on a route spanning 2,500 miles. To celebrate being an official venue on The Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay, The Wave is giving away a free dose of ‘Blue Health’ to organisations and individuals from across Bristol and beyond. The unique inland surfing destination will be giving away 1,000 free surf lessons as part of its Royal Wave campaign, an initiative to share the positive benefits of water and waves.
