Today marks the official opening of the stunning 255-bedroom Clayton Hotel Bristol City on Broad Street. The striking hotel is located within Bristol’s Old City at the medieval walls of St Johns on the site of the Grade ll listed former Everard’s Printing Works.
It is a truly unique hotel that catches the eye from several different angles. The hotel’s beautiful main entrance is framed by a historical Art Nouveau façade, dating back to the 1900’s, which pays tribute to founder of the Arts and Crafts Movement, William Morris, and inventor of the printing press, Johannes Gutenberg.

To mark the opening, the hotel commissioned Bristol born street artist Inkie to create a special bespoke piece of artwork for the hotel, in his famous ‘Ink Nouveau’ style inspired by William Morris.
On the hotel and in the surrounding area, you can also spot and explore street art from likes of Felix ‘FLX’ Braun, HazardOne and Adam Nathaniel Furman, who were all commissioned as part of the Everards Printworks development.
The stand-out features carry through to the 4* hotel itself, both in terms of interiors, facilities and service. In addition to modern 4-star bedrooms, the hotel’s 150-seater Everard’s Bar & Restaurant offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as an extensive beverage menu from local distilleries for those looking to stop in for a drink or a coffee.
The hotel also offers a dedicated meeting and events floor with six fully equipped modern rooms with Clevertouch technology, able to provide space for up to 63 delegates.
The highly-anticipated hotel is in a prime location in the heart of Bristol, an area bustling with independent bars and eateries, and independent retailers in the historic St Nicholas Market.
From the doorsteps of the hotel, guests are within 15 minutes walking distance to a variety of Bristol’s diverse districts including Cabot Circus, Park Street, the harbourside and Bristol’s cultural hub, Stokes Croft.

Dalata Hotel Group PLC, the largest hotel operator in Ireland, with a growing presence in the United Kingdom and continental Europe, operates 48 hotels and is an award-winning employer. The £50 million city centre hotel is the first within the group to open in Bristol and has brought over 80 new jobs to the city.
The decision to refurbish the existing building, rather than demolish and build anew is estimated to have saved 2,084 tonnes of C02 emissions. These carbon savings are equivalent to the CO2 emitted in powering 264 homes in one year.
Bristol Temple Meads Train Station is under 20 minutes by foot, and a variety of transport links are available within the area including buses and e-scooters.
