Calling all eco-warriors aged over 5 years, The Super Greedy Caterpillar is bound for Bath’s Egg Theatre on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th March with performances at 11.30am and 3pm. Wild Words unmissable new show for young audiences features toe-tapping tunes to dance to, singalong songs to join in with, an undersized trumpet, an oversized grub and plenty of family fun alongside a serious message about the environment.
The Super Greedy Caterpillar sees Wild Words storyteller, actor and director of Somerset Storyfest, Michael Loader, blowing his own trumpet (literally!) as he teams up with the effervescent singer songwriter Tom Veck of Rocktopus - “The ultimate rock band for kids!” They are joined on stage by energetic compatriots Scruff and Ratty, two puppets who delighted families around the UK with their humorous online shows during the first 2020 lockdown.
Expect comedy, music, live songs, participation galore and one giant un-eco-friendly beast in this thoroughly entertaining family show with two badly-behaved puppets, a man wearing fairy wings and a six-foot caterpillar who wants to eat the entire supermarket, including your granny.
Wild Words have enjoyed a successful ten-year residency at St. George’s concert hall in Bristol, offering eighteen family shows, featuring their USP pre-show Playshops, as well as touring shows around the South West and beyond.
Each Wild Words show is an original, exploring new artistic ground, whilst developing the craft with tried and trusted artists, as well as collaborating with new musicians, dancers, puppeteers, photographers, visual artists and singers. From traditional stories to spontaneous and scripted work, Wild Words has sailed the seven seas with Sinbad, trekked the forests of India with Rama and Sita, played in the streets of Vienna with Beethoven and Mozart and travelled closer to home with Elgar the Enigma, a worm seeking its purpose.
The Super Greedy Caterpillar tours to The Egg at the Theatre Royal Bath on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th March. Tickets are on sale at the Theatre Royal Box Office on 01225 448844, The Egg on 01225 823 409 and online at www.theatreroyal.org.uk/whats-on/
