Swing Sister Swing visits the Ustinov Studio at the Theatre Royal Bath on Saturday 2nd April bringing a joyous blend of music, laughter, storytelling and Lindy Hop dance. Featuring six powerful women and a six-piece band - the dancing and music may be vintage, but this is no nostalgic throwback.

Swing Sister Swing is a play that interrogates the politics of partner dance, the complexities of race and gender within the swing dance community, and the magic of what can be created through collaboration. Inviting audiences on a journey behind the glitz and glamour of the swing dance scene, the stories told are those of women navigating the challenges of modern life whilst finding escapism in the infectious rhythm, expression and improvisation of African American vernacular jazz dance and music.
