Bristol Sounds has announced its return to the city’s much-loved harbourside since with the the event expanded to six nights for the very first time. Bringing a landmark bill of live music to the heart of the city, the open-air summer concert series will take place from Wednesday June 22 to Monday June 27 2022.

The weekend will kick off on Wednesday 22nd June with Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Confidence Man. Newly added to the bill is Paolo Nutini on Thursday 23 June and a return to the city for Elbow on Friday 24 June. Saturday 25 June will feature electronic pop duo Jungle with just announced support act, Welsh electronic musician, and producer Kelly Lee Owens. Sunday 26 June will see First Aid Kit and Katy J Pearson serving up a headline show for Bristol and wrapping up the 2022 edition will be The War On Drugs.
Event promoter Conal Dodds of  Crosstown Concerts said: “We’re proud to announce our strongest line-up yet for Bristol Sounds 2022. After a long period without open air live music, the 2022 event marks a new and exciting rebirth for our harbourside series. We're putting together a bill that represents the city's diverse musical tastes and heritage and bringing some great names to play in one of our best locations with the backdrop of Bristol's harbour. There are further great artists to be announced and we look forward to our best ever run of shows in Bristol! ”
Following an epic headline set at The Downs, Bristol in 2018, firm festival favourites Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will top the bill on Wednesday 22 June. Bristol Sounds is confirmed as one of Noel Gallagher’s only UK performances for 2022.  Supporting will be Australian hi tempo dance outfit Confidence Man.
Paolo Nutini returns to Bristol for the first time since selling out the harbourside site in 2014. With a new album set to be released in 2022, this will be one of the few opportunities in the UK to see Paolo this summer.

Perennial favourites Elbow also return to the harbourside for the first time since 2018, having also headlined The Downs festival in 2017. Having released their ninth studio album “Flying Dream 1” in November 2021, the Bury band , fronted by Guy Garvey, are one of the UK’s most critically acclaimed live bands.

Assured to get Bristol dancing, British electronic music duo Jungle will headline on Saturday 25 June. Their new album ‘Loving In Stereo’, is a dynamic disco record for the post social distancing age, with a dancefloor-igniting celebration of all the things that make music irresistibly fun. The show with be the first time Bristol Sounds has had an all-afternoon event, with gates opening at 2pm and a full supporting bill still to be announced.

Sunday 26 June welcomes Swedish Soderberg sisters First Aid Kit, headlining their biggest ever show in the southwest. Johanna and Klara will return with a new album in 2022. Special guest will be breakthrough artist and BBC Radio 6 Music favourite Katy J Pearson. The Bristol singer’s popularity has soared over the last 12 months, following the release of her critically acclaimed debut album, ‘Return’.

Closing this year’s event will see the biggest Bristol show ever by Philadelphian rock band The War on Drugs.  The band released their fifth studio album ‘ I Don’t Live Here Anymore” in November 2021, and have become one of the biggest live  US acts in the UK in recent years. This show is bound to be a fitting close to this year’s stunning line up.
