Beyond We (previously known as Bristol African Caribbean Culture Space) is dedicated to developing, showcasing and sharing the work of black artists and creatives for everyone to experience.
Beyond We was founded by Dr Mena Fombo, an entrepreneur, film director and global speaker and Micheal Jenkins, an award-winning self-shooting director/producer.
We are launching our FREE Artist Development programme with an inspiring retreat for black creatives dedicated to making and sharing arts practice from Sunday 20 Mar to Tuesday 22 Mar 2022 (Deadline to apply 22 February 12pm).
Our artist retreat is a transformational experience, designed to develop a cohort of creatives both personally and professionally.
Quote Dr Mena Fombo : "I've been designing and delivering inspirational retreats for over 15 years as a coach & facilitator and I've seen first hand how these purpose driven spaces can be transformational to individuals. I would encourage everyone who's unsure about if this is for them to take that first step into trying something new and still apply - we only truly grow as people once we step out of comfort and into our stretch zone. "
Beyond We believes that by creating a space filled with equally driven and motivated creatives, we will inspire each other and equally benefit.
We want all attendees to have time and energy away from day to day life to think about creativity on a deeper level.
Quote Michael Jenkins: "As a business owner and freelance creative I know first hand how it feels to consistently be working on commissions or running the business - it can be challenging to make time to actually think about your creative practice and reflect on what you've achieved or where you want to go next. We've created this space to support other artists to do that. "

A beautiful scenic venue and location on the outskirts of Bristol.
Accommodation
Rooms are allocated on a single occupancy basis.

Taking part in the programme is FREE to you.
Who is this retreat for?
- Black creatives (established or emerging) who enjoy learning in groups or with others
- Those who are open minded and interested in building / sharing with this community beyond the retreat
- This is an intergenerational project for ages 18-70+yrs.
