After opening to rave reviews in Oxford, the world premiere production of Mrs Delgado tours to the Ustinov Studio at the Theatre Royal Bath, appearing from Wednesday 19th to Saturday 22nd January.
Helen, along with 67 million other people, is in lockdown. Unfortunately Helen’s nearest neighbour, Mrs Delgado, is not.
This funny and poignant new play which tells a story of desire, control, raised blinds and lowered boundaries, comes from the pen of triple Olivier Award-winner Mike Bartlett (King Charles III, TV’s Doctor Foster).

Writer Mike Bartlett said, “Mrs Delgado touches on those experiences we’ve all had over the last 18 months, exploring how easy it can be to feel alone, and what our connections and responsibilities are to each other.”
Mrs Delgado is directed by Olivier Award-winner Clare Lizzimore, from the team behind Oxford’s acclaimed Old Fire Station theatre company, and stars actor and comedian Ellen Robertson as Helen. Ellen recently enjoyed a sell-out run at the Battersea Arts Centre in Britney, alongside co-writer and comedy partner, Charly Clive. Their debut play premiered at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, appeared at London’s Soho Theatre, toured the UK and was also adapted for BBC3. Ellen’s credits also include An Intervention and Snowflake at Oxford’s Old Fire Station and London’s Kiln Theatre, and The Pale Horse and In My Skin on television.
Mike Bartlett is a multi-award-winning stage and screen writer. His television work has won national acclaim, including the hit BBC One series Doctor Foster, winner of BAFTA, National Television, Royal Television Society and Broadcasting Press Guild Awards. He has won three Olivier Awards for his plays. King Charles III which appeared at London’s Almeida Theatre, in the West End and toured to Bath in 2015, won both an Olivier and Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Play. His plays Cock at London’s Royal Court Theatre and Bull at London’s Young Vic, both won the Olivier Award for Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre. His drama Love, Love, Love, which transferred to London’s Royal Court Theatre, won the UK Theatre Award for Best New Play. Mike has previously been Writer-in-Residence at the Royal Court Theatre, National Theatre and Paines Plough.
