Unfortunately, the contractor due to carry out the works on the Redcliffe Bascule Bridge entered into administration on 21st July 2021 and the project is delayed until further notice.
The ten week road closure that was due to start Monday 16 August 2021 will not go ahead as planned, and bridge will remain open to all road users. The southern footway that was previously closed, has reopened, so both footways are open while the works are paused.
Bristol City Council are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding. Further updates will be provided and clarity on completition of these important refurbishment works as soon as possible.
