Pieminister is on a mission to plant a new forest – every vegan patty or pie eaten this summer generates a donation from Pieminister to Forestry England towards the purchasing, planting, and caring of trees, which will be planted in England this Autumn.  To help boost funds, Pieminister commissioned Bristol artist Parys Gardener to illustrate a tea towel.

‘Our tea towels are an unexpected best seller for us, so when we sold out again recently, we asked Parys Gardener if she’d create a fresh design that could also raise funds for our new forest.  We love what Parys has done!  Inspired by summers spent relaxing among the trees in Bristol’s parks, £1.50 will go direct to the forest fund for every tea towel purchased through our online shop’.

The limited-edition tea towel is a bargain at £6.50 and available through Pieminister’s online shop.

Pieminister’s Eat Pies: Plant Trees campaign runs all summer until September 2021 and all the proceeds raised through plant-based patty, pie and 5% lager sales - as well as the new tea towel - will go directly to Forestry England, for the planting of a new forest on disused land in Kent. A bit about the partnership with Forestry England

To plant this woodland for future generations to enjoy, Pieminister has partnered with Forestry England, an organisation which cares for more land and trees than any other in the country.  Forestry England has been shaping landscapes for people, wildlife and nature for over a century and Pieminister is excited to be able to draw on its immense knowledge and expertise, ensuring that this new forest is created with sustainability at its heart.

Mike Seddon Forestry England’s Chief Executive added, ‘Trees are one of our most important tools in tackling the climate crisis - capturing carbon, alleviating flooding and cooling our urban environments are just some of the vital benefits they provide. We design and plant forests to thrive well into the future, in time giving us green places for play or adventure, sustainable timber and homes for wildlife.  We are delighted to be working with Pieminister, as they offer up this range of award-winning, plant-based options on their menus. By helping us to grow the nation’s forests, they are playing an important role in encouraging communities and nature to flourish.’
