Julian House is calling on local families, friends and work colleagues to take on its epic 20-mile walking challenge – The Circuit of Bath Walk.
The sponsored walk, now in its 20th year, takes place on Sunday 26 September 2021 and will see participants walking the circular route taking in some of Bath’s most beautiful near countryside, surrounding villages and taking in spectacular views across the historic city itself including from Little Solsbury Hill and South Stoke Millenium Viewpoint.
While the charity is encouraging people take on the full 20-mile route, participants can choose their own distance and start point thanks to the five checkpoints along the route and a free shuttle bus service between each.
Senior Community & Events Fundraiser, Jess Gay said: “The Circuit of Bath is a really important event for everyone involved. By taking part, you not only get an incredible sense of achievement after walking 20 miles over challenging terrain but also the knowledge that the sponsorship you raise will help to rebuild lives. By taking part, participants are helping to support vulnerable and at-risk men, women and children in our emergency access hostel and domestic abuse refuge. This year has been tough for everyone, not least those in our services which been in very high demand during the pandemic and will continue to be as lockdown eases. Our supporters are helping to save lives!
Self-care coach and Nordic Walking Instructor, Yvonne Bignall took on the challenge last year. She said: “We had so much fun and it really is a beautiful circuit of Bath, places I had never seen before with spectacular views that feed the soul. Not to be missed!”

The charity is encouraging participants to sign up early and take advantage of its early bird ticket sale which ends on Sunday 4 July. Early bird tickets are £10 Adult, £5 Child, £22 Family.
Jess Gay added: “While participant’s entry fee goes towards the cost of organising the walk, every pound and penny they raise through sponsorship goes towards helping us support vulnerable men, women and children in our care. We hope people will aim to raise as much as possible to help us through this extremely challenging time so we can support as many people as possible.
We are very aware of the situation around COVID-19 and will continue to monitor and follow the advice being issued. The safety of the community, participants, staff and volunteers is and always will be our top priority. We would like to reassure anyone who purchases a ticket to the event that they will have the option of a refund if the event has to be cancelled due to COVID.”
