Jump onboard the Brick Express at the Avon Valley Railway on 5 & 6 June and get creative! What will you be inspired to build?
All children over 5 will be given a box of bricks (worth at least their ticket price), compatible with the leading brand, to play with onboard and then to take home afterwards. Family groups or support bubbles will be seated either in separate compartments or around tables well away from other passengers to maintain social distancing whilst onboard the train. There will be hand sanitiser available when you arrive as well as onboard, and our volunteers will be cleaning the train between journeys too (we’ve increased the gap between train times to help us achieve this safely).
There will be inspiration from Bristol-based Lego user Group ‘GertLUG’ who’ll be exhibiting their latest creations. There’ll be cityscapes, trains, fantasy scenes and much more for you to enjoy.
Mark Simmons, the railway’s Commercial & Business Manager said; ‘our Brick Express weekend is always great fun. It’s great to see everyone’s amazing creations and I think the adults enjoy it just as much as the children to be honest!’
You’ll need to reserve your seats on a specific train, but the station site and model displays will be open all day for you to enjoy. Four trains will depart each day at 11:00, 12:30, 14:00 and 15:30. Advance booking is highly recommended to guarantee seats and can be purchased in advance from the railway’s website www.avonvalleyrailway.org. Tickets cost £10 for adults, £9 for concessions and just £5 for children (to include the box of bricks).
