Show of Strength Theatre Company’s hugely popular Treasure Island story walks will be making a comeback this half term, following a sell-out run in October 2020.

Running from Saturday 29 May to Sunday 6 June, walks will take place twice a day at 2pm and 4pm and are a perfect family-friendly half term activity, as well as a chance to learn some of Bristol’s hidden pirate history!

Starting at King Street, the walk explores Bristol’s pirate past. Discover where Long John Silver ran his pub, The Spyglass. Find out where Squire Trelawney found and fitted out the good ship Hispaniola and where a young Jim Hawkins stepped off the coach from Devon to embark on his biggest ever adventure…his search for Captain Flint’s buried treasure.

Sheila Hannon, Show of Strength creative producer, had this to say: “Avast me hearties, this be a rip-roaring show for all the family. A story of buried treasure, hidden booty and some of the most infamous pirates ever to sail the seven seas.”

“The story walk is packed full of pirates and buccaneers, and lashings of doubloons, told right here where it all happened: Bristol docks. Accompanied by Ted, the fact checking parrot, children are going to love it, but we can’t say the same for the questionable pirate jokes.”

The Treasure Island Story Walk is also available to book as a private tour and is a perfect activity for families and friends. All tours observe social distancing guidelines and are limited to 20 with a maximum of 6 to walk together, along with the ‘real’ pirate and Ted the talking

Parrot. Speaking of pirates, what’s a pirate’s favourite cheese? Cheddarrrrgh!

The walk is recommended for ages 8+, tickets are priced at adults £12, under 16s £6, and family tickets (2 adults, 2 children) £30, and are available exclusively through Yuup: https://www.yuup.co/experiences/treasure-island-pirate-story-walk
