As we approach the end of the year, we thought we'd provide an update on our PR activity, as over the past month we have been working hard to ensure that national media have details about Bath's news, and securing press coverage.
These include updating press on what's happening in 2021, securing editorial and broadcast coverage for our Virtual Bath Christmas Market and the Bath at Christmas programme of events (including working with Bath BID to secure BBC Points West and ITV West Country coverage about their festive illuminations), pitching Bridgerton-inspired travel pieces about Bath to journalists, and keeping VisitEngland and VisitBritain regularly updated with news and content.
Recent coverage gained includes pieces about Netflix's new series, Bridgerton – airing on Christmas Day and part-filmed in Bath – on Hello Magazine online, Somerset Life, and in Bath Life magazine, with further pieces expected over the next month in Metro.co.uk, The Independent, The Radio Times and Britain magazine.
We have secured Virtual Bath Christmas Market and Bath at Christmas coverage in Country & Townhouse, the Mail Online and Yours.co.uk. We have also worked with freelance journalists to have several Bath businesses featured in Travel and Gift Guide-focused pieces, including in The Independent and the Guardian.
Our Interim CEO, Kathryn Davis, was also interviewed live on community station Bath Radio this week. She discussed what we do as an organisation here at Visit Bath, the value of tourism to the local economy, and things for Bath residents to look forward to in 2021.
We are now looking forward to next year and pitching story ideas for New Year, Wellbeing, Valentine’s Day and Half Term.
