Bristol Cocktail Weekend is set to return this September, ready to serve up a perfectly crafted experience for cocktail lovers and foodies alike. Running from Thursday 26 September – Sunday 29 September, the weekend will feature over 30 of Bristol’s top venues, each offering exclusive cocktails and mocktails for tipple lovers to enjoy. Brought to the city by drink and dining festival connoisseurs, Living For The Weekend, the event is supported by the Bristol City Centre Business Improvement District (BID).
The Hendrick’s Gin Hub at Bambalan will be at the heart of the action, joined by renowned spots including Milk Thistle, Her Majesty’s Secret Service, The Cocktail Club and The Botanist, with 2023’s Bristol Cocktail Weekend Cocktail of the Year winner, Flight Club, also returning for the chance to reclaim the crown.
Each participating venue will be crafting its very own signature Bristol Cocktail Weekend cocktail for the event, priced at £6, with an accompanying mocktail at £5. As well as unique cocktails crafted specifically for the weekend, some bars and restaurants will also be offering exclusive food pairings and discounts, including a 25% discount on food bills at waterside spot Rick’s at The Bristol Hotel and 25% off sourdough pizzas at Flight Club. Guests can also head to Filthy XIII to unlock the renowned venue’s signature cocktail and hot dog pairing for just £12 or swing by The Colosseum for a Rump Steak with Chimichurri for just £10.
Elsewhere, the weekend will be overflowing with exclusive cocktail-inspired events. Highlights include a pre-festival five-course cocktail pairing dinner at Hotel du Vin on Wednesday 25th September, with each course paired perfectly to a specially crafted cocktail. On Thursday 26th, the team at Crying Wolf have joined forces with Black Cow Vodka to present guests with an exclusive martini masterclass and Hyde & Co will be welcoming a takeover from Birmingham cocktail bar Fox & Chance, one of the UKs Top 50 Cocktail Bars, as the two collaborate on cocktail menus for a second time after a successful soiree at Birmingham Cocktail Weekend 2024.
Hidden gem, The Library will host a one-off experience combining cocktails, candles and 12 yr aged Scotch Whisky from The Balvenie in an immersive candle making workshop on Saturday 28th September. Whisky lovers can enjoy a dram of whisky while creating their very own whisky-scented candles, followed by The Library’s signature cocktail.
As well as a handful of quirky events, Bristol Cocktail Weekend will also be showcasing the best of live music and DJs across the weekend. Wristband holders can join Death Disco and Monkey Shoulder on Friday 27th for an evening of cocktails and slushies, made with Monkey Shoulder blended malt scotch whisky, to be sipped while dancing the night away to the sounds of electronic DJ, Ross Wilson. Alternatively and taking place on both Friday and Saturday, the Clayton Hotel will be hosting two nights of classic instrumentals infused with modern DJ mixes, courtesy of Mark Fortnum.
Across the city on Saturday 28th, The Golden Crane will be the place to be for those looking for some late night live music, incredible cocktails and kimchi cheese toasties to fuel a night on the dance floor. As well as its signature £6 Bristol Cocktail Weekend cocktail, The Golden Crane will be serving drinks from a special Busker Cocktail menu.
Alex Nicholson-Evans, Bristol Cocktail Weekend’s Founder and Director, said: “Bristol Cocktail Weekend is back for a second year and it’s bigger and better than ever! We’ve got even more bars serving up exclusive £6 signature cocktails and £5 mocktails, a fantastic selection of food offers to keep everyone fuelled and this year’s programme of events presents some truly unique experiences! Whisky candle making anyone?! I cannot wait for September’s event - it’s set to be unmissable for both cocktail connoisseurs and those who want to try something new!”
Vicky Lee, Director of Bristol City Centre BID, said: “Last year’s Bristol Cocktail Weekend was such a success with the amount of people it drew into our amazing venues. Bristol is known for its thriving hospitality businesses and so to have more venues on board showing off their incredible offerings is a perfect way to celebrate the industry in a city that loves its food and drink scene as much as Bristol does.”
Bristol Cocktail Weekend is an 18+ event, with tickets available starting at £12. A wristband grants access to the cocktails and mocktails which have been created exclusively for festival go-ers, as well as all the food offerings at participating venues and the special events taking place throughout the weekend.
