From celebrating the 250th birthday of one of the world’s best-selling authors, to a huge live show from Robbie Williams on the lawns of the Royal Crescent and a brand-new event to spotlight the city’s restaurant scene, 2025 is gearing up to be an exciting year for Bath!
Austen 250
In 2025, Bath celebrates Austen 250 – the 250th anniversary of the famous former resident novelist’s birthday - with a packed programme of events, exhibitions, talks, tours, trails, themed hotel packages, and the annual Jane Austen Festival, which is presenting four themed balls throughout the year: three in the summer and a special Yuletide birthday ball in the winter.

NEW: Mirror & Mirth: Rowlandson & Nixon Satirise at Victoria Art Gallery
24 January – 24 April 2025
This exhibition will include the finest satirical works in the Victoria Art Gallery collection, including Rowlandson's celebrated 'Comforts of Bath' series, a boisterous survey of the activities offered in the city. There will also be an opportunity to see the teasing observational sketches of Nixon, the gentler alternative to Rowlandson's scathing send-ups.

NEW: Iconic - Portraiture from Francis Bacon to Andy Warhol at the Holburne Museum
24 January – 5 May 2025
Featuring major names of 20th century art including Francis Bacon, Peter Blake, Pauline Boty, Richard Hamilton, Gerhard Richter and Andy Warhol, Iconic: Portraiture from Francis Bacon to Andy Warhol brings rarely seen works together to explore the ways artists are inspired by photography. The exhibition focuses on the period in the mid-20th century, particularly the 1960s, when many artists began to use photographs as sources for paintings.

Bath's festival of wellbeing returns for its third edition, featuring three weeks of events aimed at boosting the mental and physical wellbeing of visitors.
Silent Disco at The Roman Baths & The Guildhall
7 & 8 February 2025
Two historic Bath venues will host silent discos this February, allowing visitors to dance like nobody's watching in spectacular surroundings! At The Roman Baths, the party will start with a complimentary cocktail served by the Great Bath, and at The Guildhall, the beautiful Banqueting Room will be transformed into a dancefloor.

NEW: Bath Restaurant Week

This new event will celebrate Bath's outstanding restaurant scene, and encourage residents and visitors alike to get a taste of the mouth-watering food and drink being served up across the city every day. The event will be preceded by the inaugural Bath Waiters' Race across the city in April - which team will be victorious?

The Bath Literature & Music Festival
16 - 25 May 2025
The city's largest and oldest arts festival, Bath Festival, is splitting into two individual events running alongside each other in 2025: the Bath Music Festival and Bath Literature Festival. The beloved Party in the City will return to kick off both events on Friday 16 May.

Excitement is mounting as Bath looks forward to welcoming global pop megastar Robbie Williams, who will perform two open-air gigs in the stunning surroundings of the Royal Crescent in June.

NEW: Ralph Fiennes Season at the Theatre Royal Bath
June - October 2025
This June, Harry Potter and James Bond star Ralph Fiennes will take over the Theatre Royal Bath for his own season of shows, running throughout Summer and Autumn 2025. The programme will include a blend of new and old, including original play Grace Pervades, and a production of Shakespeare’s classic As You Like It.

The Jane Austen Festival
12 - 21 September 2025
In addition to a series of special events to celebrate Austen 250, this year's edition of the annual Jane Austen Festival will feature its usual 10-day programme of Austen-themed events, including the unmissable Grand Regency Costumed Promenade through the city centre.
Bath Christmas Market
27 November - 14 December 2025
The world-famous Bath Christmas Market will return to the historic city centre streets for its 25th anniversary edition in late November. The market will feature over 200 chalets packed full of tempting merchandise and produce crafted by local artisans.
Other events returning to the city in 2025 include the Festival of Nature in June, Bath Carnival in July, the Children’s Literature Festival in September, as well as FilmBath and Bath Mozart Festival in October. Further details on all of these events will be announced in due course.
New Products, Openings & Refurbishments
Food tour operator Savouring Bath has announced a brand-new afternoon tea experience, where you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the city, followed by your choice of a ‘Georgian’ or ‘Luxury’ themed afternoon tea in one of Bath’s gorgeous eateries. The tour itself can be tailored for your tastes, whether you’re interested in Jane Austen’s links to the city, Bath’s starring role in film and TV, the city during the 18th century, or a more general overview.
Parade Park Hotel is set to reopen as a luxury hotel under Providence Hotels in the summer, while The Francis Hotel, Bath Priory and No.15 by GuestHouse all have refurbishments taking place in 2025. The Francis Hotel will also see the addition of a new luxury spa.
