These companies, known for championing diversity and inclusion, will play a central role in the evening’s program, which is set to blend meaningful conversations with cultural performances and exceptional cuisine from refugee and migrant chefs.

A key highlight of The Welcome Party will be the cultural and culinary showcase, where guests will enjoy a menu crafted by refugee and migrant-led catering businesses. Featuring vibrant dishes from Sudan, Egypt and Sri Lanka. This unique dining experience celebrates resilience and community-building, with each dish telling a story of cultural heritage and perseverance.

Farah will join MoYah on stage for a 40-minute conversation, where they will discuss their shared journeys from displacement to success, the importance of community support and the ongoing challenges faced by refugees. The event will also feature a discussion led by Fuad Mahamed, CEO of ACH, alongside employers and beneficiaries who engaged in this vital work. This conversation will explore the organisation’s crucial work in helping refugees and migrants rebuild their lives in Bristol. The panel will focus on community resilience and the key factors needed for successful integration, drawing from the personal experiences of the beneficiaries.

The Welcome Party is an opportunity for businesses to engage in a conversation about the role they play in fostering inclusivity and creating pathways to success for refugees and migrants. ACH’s work with companies across sectors highlights the significant contributions that refugee-led enterprises are making to the local economy. By providing skills training, mentorship and employment opportunities, businesses can actively support the integration process while benefiting from the talent and innovation that migrants bring.

Without the support of key supporters, this event wouldn’t be possible. Main supporter Burges Salmon, alongside The Curo Group and WW YTL have been instrumental in backing the event and promoting initiatives that support refugees. MoYah, who will host the event, will personally introduce representatives from both organisations to speak on their commitment to diversity, followed by an inspiring presentation from Sir Mo Farah.

Host of The Welcome Party, MoYah, said: “This event is incredibly personal to me, as someone who came to Europe as a refugee. The Welcome Party is not just a celebration, it’s a recognition of the strength and creativity that migrants, including refugees, bring to this city. I’m honoured to share the stage with so many inspiring individuals.”

Fuad Mahamed, CEO of ACH said: “At ACH, we’ve seen the benefit of employer support in providing opportunities for migrants, including refugees, to secure meaningful employment. The businesses who engage with us are not only helping individuals thrive, but they’re also enriching Bristol’s economy and cultural landscape.”
