The Grand Pier named among the UK's top three seaside experiences

The Grand Pier is pleased to announce that it has been voted one of the top three seaside experiences in the UK.

This week, the team proudly accepted third place in the 2024 Bucket and Spade Awards, organized by the Seaside Heritage Network. The announcement took place in the Art Deco surroundings of the Plaza Cinema in Weston-super-Mare, at an event generously supported by North Somerset Council and Merlin Cinemas. This incredible recognition comes from thousands of people who voted for their favorite seaside spots throughout the summer.

Katie Michael, PR & Marketing Manager at The Grand Pier, expressed her gratitude, saying, "We are so proud to be recognized as one of the top 3 seaside experiences in the UK! These are attractions that make their location unique, and they are highly valued by residents and visitors alike; it’s for that reason thousands of people took the time to register their choice."

She further noted, "Several themes emerged in the comments from voters, and the sense of continuity these places and experiences provide was key. People have a great nostalgia for the things they enjoyed in childhood and are grateful for the opportunity to pass that on to the next generation."
