A section of Charlton Road in Keynsham will be closed to all road users for up to three weeks, as highway reconstruction and resurfacing works are carried out.
The works will start on Monday 10 June and take place along a section of Charlton Road between its junctions with Parkhouse Lane and Wollard Lane. A full road closure will be in place throughout, with 24 hour working to reduce the length of time the closure is needed and to minimise disruption.
The council will resurface 14,423m2 of highway during these works, an area equivalent to the size of 55 tennis courts. It's the largest scheme on the council’s annual resurfacing programme, which includes 27 schemes across Bath & North East Somerset.
Access for residents within the road closures will be maintained whenever possible as site operations allow, with access controlled by on-site traffic marshals.
Diversion routes will be in place for traffic and advanced notices have been in place to inform motorists of the upcoming closure. Given the extents of the closure there is no through access to Keynsham via Queen Charlton, the diversion routes can be seen on one.network.
Bath & North East Somerset Council contractor VolkerHighways will be carrying out the works.
