One of the most effective, and often overlooked, ways to boost your own website's search engine visibility is through backlinks. These are links from other websites pointing to yours. As a Visit West member with a listing on Visit Bath or Visit Bristol, your business benefits from a link to your website from two of the UK's highest-traffic destination platforms, helping to improve your domain authority and organic search rankings.
But the relationship works both ways. When you link back to Visit Bath or Visit Bristol from your own website, for example from a local area guide, a "plan your visit" page, an FAQs section, or a partners page, you help strengthen the overall digital presence of the destination and a stronger destination platform means more visitors, more traffic, and ultimately more exposure for your business.
t takes only a few small changes to your website to make a meaningful difference, and our team is happy to advise on the best ways to link to us.

Both Visit Bath and Visit Bristol run seasonal consumer campaigns throughout the year, aimed at encouraging visits - particularly overnight stays, short breaks, and midweek stays. Campaigns are designed to add value and fill the gaps in the visitor calendar, rather than simply amplify already-busy periods.
Visit Bath flagship campaigns: #SummerinBath and #BathatChristmas
Visit Bristol flagship campaigns: #SummerinBristol and #MerryBristmas
As well as our flagship seasonal campaigns, we take an 'always on' content-led approach across a range of year-round themes, giving members consistent opportunities for visibility outside of campaign windows.
Bath at Christmas Our annual festive campaign runs in November and December, promoting short breaks to Bath centred on the popular and award-winning Bath Christmas Market, alongside the city's wider festive offer - including places to stay, attractions, food and drink, and seasonal events. Businesses can extend their reach using #BathAtChristmas.
Summer in Bath is our annual campaign running from late June to the end of September, showcasing the very best of Bath and the surrounding region during the warmer months. The campaign promotes the full summer offer - places to stay, things to do, food and drink, outdoor experiences, and events to UK domestic audiences considering a short break or day trip. The campaign drives traffic to a dedicated Summer in Bath hub each year, and encourages user-generated content and extended reach through #SummerInBath.
Bath Food and Drink is our annual springtime campaign to promote Bath's food and drink scene, including bars, restaurants, tours, experiences, vineyards, breweries and local producers.
ReBalance Bath: Festival of Wellbeing In January and February, Visit West has partners with Bath BID to support ReBalance Bath, a city-wide celebration of feel-good activities running for three weeks from late January to mid-February. The campaign promotes Bath's exceptional wellbeing offer, from its world-renowned spas and thermal heritage to dining, countryside walks, and outdoor experiences, to visitors actively planning a wellness-focused short break.
Summer in Bristol Running from late June to the end of September, Summer in Bristol showcases the city's attractions, events, food and drink, places to stay, and things to do during the warmer months. The campaign drives traffic to a dedicated hub each year and encourages user-generated content via #SummerInBristol.
