Experience amazing wildlife up-close at Slimbridge Wetland Centre and visit the remarkable historical fortress of Berkeley Castle.

Your group visit could look like…

 

Berkeley Castle (GL13 9PJ)

10.30am Coffee/tea and biscuits in the Kitchen Garden Restaurant.

11am Go on a guided tour of the castle*, soak up over 900 years of history from medieval fortress to family home. Enjoy the terraced gardens, with views over the River Severn to the Forest of Dean.

1pm Depart for Slimbridge Wetland Centre, approx 10 minutes away. Slimbridge Wetland Centre (GL2 7BT)

1.15pm Arrive at Slimbridge Wetland Centre for a light lunch in the Kingfisher Kitchen.

2.15pm Explore 100s of acres of beautiful wetland landscape. Meet ducks, geese and swans from all over the world and take in breath-taking views of the Severn estuary. Spot a flamboyance of flamingos and explore one of Slimbridge’s immersive exhibits, including the Living Wetland Theatre. A private tour of Scott House Museum is also an option if booked in advance; please let us know at the time of booking.

 

Facilities and accessibility

Both sites offer free coach parking, toilets – including disabled, café and gift shop. Slimbridge Wetland Centre is a level site with flat paths and the majority is wheelchair accessible. Mobility scooters are also available to hire, please enquire in advance. Due to its historic nature, Berkeley Castle has limited disabled access, with uneven paths and steps. Assistance dogs are welcome at both sites.

 

How to book

Itinerary includes a private tour of Berkeley Castle, morning refreshments, admission to Slimbridge Wetland Centre and a pre-booked afternoon lunch. Based on a minimum of 20 visitors.
