The England you already know.....but better!

This is a pitch to help you more easily sell the Bath and Bristol region to your clients right now. We know that introducing ‘new’ product can take a long time and is seen as a risk. At this time, it is understandable that DMCs and Tour Operators are more risk averse that they may usually be. Therefore, we have come up with a new way of seeing the West of England.

For many years we have talked about using the region as a ‘hub and spoke’ destination, following the trend of slowing down itineraries (long gone are the days of ‘Europe in three days’). Using this approach and the fantastic geographic location of our city locations, we can talk about your groups having a ‘sunrise tour’ at the Roman Baths (new for 2023), or one at Stonehenge (use one of our local tour companies who provide this for small groups) – avoiding the crowds arriving on long day trips from London. This approach brings in products that are familiar to many, but by staying in the area you get them to experience them in a whole new way.

Take a morning tour of the Cotswolds when there are no other groups around. Staying in the region opens up the opportunity to arrive at an attraction as they open in the morning, which can often be a little quieter, or even later in the afternoon for the same experience.

Bath and Bristol are so close that a train journey between the two cities takes just 12 minutes (that’s quicker that travelling from Paddington to Leicester Square!) or around 30-40 minutes by road. This also opens up great opportunities to combine activities in both cities - take afternoon tea at the Pump Rooms, experience Evensong at Bath Abbey and then enjoy a show at one of Bristol's theatres or an evening cruise around the historic Harbourside, for example.

Using Bath or Bristol as your base there are some other brilliant day trips available without huge time needed to be spent on the coach, which equals more time experiencing the destinations and better holiday memories. Cardiff is under an hour away - combine with a panoramic tour into the Valleys and even a stop at the Royal Mint. Gloucester, Cheltenham and the Cotswolds are close by, include a stop at Berkeley Castle and even Tetbury. The Somerset towns of Glastonbury, Cheddar (cave-aged cheese in the gorge, yes please!) and Wells (actually a city) combine as a brilliant trio alongside the coastal towns of Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon and Portishead.
