About

Lakota is truly the beating heart of Bristol’s rich and longstanding musical scene. Having opened 30 years ago, countless acts have graced the decks, including Carl Cox, Boy George, Pete Tong, Eats Everything, Green Velvet, Congo Natty, My Nu Leng, Mala, Gentlemen’s Dub Club, Andy C, Calibre, Stormzy and many, many more.

The Lakota part of the complex boasts 4 rooms whilst there is also a large outside space called Lakota Gardens which hosts events, theatre, arts and food. A further 2 rooms are situated in the old Coroner's Court - which can operate as a separate venue altogether - and welcomes more underground artists to perform for a raw, authentic raving experience.

The club pays tribute to the heritage of Bristol’s music scene with impressive street art adorning the outer walls. Inside, a world class soundsystem powered by L'Acoustics and a lighting setup to blow your mind exceed all expectations of the former brewery.

With a broad selection of drinks on offer at reasonable prices, polite staff and security, Lakota and Coroner's Court is certainly a one-stop shop for all your nightlife needs. From Disco to Drum & Bass, Garage to Afrobeats, Techno to Dubstep – and a monthly visit from the UK’s largest Psytrance night, Tribe Of Frog – all genres, tastes and customers are catered for.

Drinks prices are competitive with the rest of the city and being situated just off of Stokes Croft, ensuring that the venue is central and accessible to all.
